Managing members
The user directory: finding people, changing roles, and understanding status indicators.
4 min readUpdated
Administration › Users is the directory for everyone on the account. Open it from the user menu by choosing Administration, then Users under Directory. The Back control at the top returns you to the exact page you were on before.
The two tabs#
- Users: everyone who has joined, with a live count.
- Pending: invitations that are waiting to be accepted.
Above the table, a summary strip shows the total number of users, how many are on paid seats, how many are free, and how many are deactivated or deleted. The search box lets you find users by name or email.
The columns#
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| User | Avatar, name and email. A crown marks the owner; a "You" chip marks yourself. |
| Role | The user's current role, with a menu for changing it. |
| Status | Active, Deactivated or Deleted. |
| Joined | When they accepted their invitation. |
| Last active | Today, Yesterday, N days ago or N mo ago. |
| Actions | The ⋯ menu for that person. |
Changing someone's role#
Open the Role cell and choose a new role. Each option shows what it allows and whether it requires a paid seat. If the new role requires a paid seat and none are available, you'll be asked to purchase one before the change can be completed.
Some rows can't be changed, and the menu explains why:
| Row | Why it's locked |
|---|---|
| The owner | The owner's role can't be changed here, transfer ownership instead. |
| Yourself | You can't change your own role. |
| A deactivated user | Reactivate them first, then change the role. |
| A deleted user | The role only records what they had. Deleted rows have no actions. |
