Editing and deleting

Both live in the update's ⋯ menu, both depend on permission, and deleting gives you two seconds to change your mind.

3 min readUpdated

Hover an update or a reply and a ⋯ menu appears in its corner. On an update it offers Edit, Share and Delete; on a reply, Edit and Delete.

Two seconds is the whole safety net. There is no trash to recover from afterwards.

Editing#

Choose Edit and the update turns back into the editor in place, with Cancel and Save. Edited replies carry a small italic "(edited)" marker afterwards.

Deleting#

Choosing Delete removes the update from the list straight away and shows a black toast in the bottom-right corner reading "Comment will be permanently deleted in 2 seconds", or "Reply…" for a reply, with an Undo button.

If the deletion can't be saved, OurOpero puts the update back where it was and tells you "Failed to delete comment. Please try again."
