Selecting several items

How selection works on a board, and the two actions the floating bar offers once you've made one.

Deleting items and moving them between groups both work through selection, so it's worth knowing the shortcuts.

Selecting rows#

  • Every row has a checkbox in a narrow column pinned to the left, which stays put while you scroll sideways.
  • The checkbox in a group's header row selects or clears every item in that group.
  • The subitem table has its own select-all checkbox in its header for the subitems under one item.

Selected rows turn pale blue with a blue border, so you can see what you've picked while scrolling through a long board.

The floating bar#

As soon as anything is selected, a dark pill appears at the bottom centre of the screen. It counts items and subitems together, a selection of two items and three subitems reads "5 Items selected".

ControlWhat it does
DeleteOpens the confirmation dialog for the whole selection. The items are archived, and an Undo toast follows.
Move toMoves the selected items into another group. Only shown when at least one top-level item is selected.
XClears the selection and hides the bar.

Moving a selection#

Choosing Move to opens a menu headed "Move to group", listing every group on the board with its colour swatch. Groups that already hold part of your selection are left out, since there would be nothing to move.

After the move, you get a toast confirming it: "Moved 5 items to Backlog". It also reminds you where they went: "They're at the bottom of that group."

On an ordered board, check the order afterwards.
