Posting an update

Every item carries its own conversation. Choose the speech-bubble button on the item's Name cell and the item panel slides in from the right. It has exactly two tabs, Updates and Files, each with a count badge.

Each update carries Like and a reply count, and its own reply box. The count beside Reply is the number of replies, not a button.

Two tabs only, Updates and Files, each with a count badge.

Writing an update#

  1. Open the item and stay on the Updates tab.
  2. Choose the box reading "Write an update and mention others with @": the full editor replaces it.
  3. Write your update, formatting it however you like.
  4. Choose Post Update.

Cancel closes the editor again without posting. While the update is being sent the button reads Posting…

The editor is the full one, not a cut-down version.

What the editor can do#

The update editor carries the full toolbar, not a cut-down one:

A mention notifies the person and links to their profile in the posted update.
  • Paragraph and Heading 1 to 6, plus font sizes from Small to Huge.
  • Text colour: black, red, blue, green, purple, orange, pink and gray.
  • Bold, italic and underline.
  • Alignment: left, centre, right and justify.
  • Bulleted and numbered lists with style variants, plus a Todo checklist.
  • Link, Emoji, and Insert Table with 2×2, 3×3, 4×4, 2×4 and 4×2 presets.

Attaching a file#

The paperclip in the toolbar uploads a file and drops it straight into the update, images appear inline, anything else as a clip icon with the filename. Attachments posted this way also land on the item's Files tab, so that tab refreshes when you post.

Anyone else with that item open sees your update appear without refreshing, including your own other tabs.

The count beside Reply is the number of replies, not a button.
