Organising with folders

The folder tree, nesting, renaming, and the search and view controls for finding a file again.

A File board has a folder tree on the left and the files in the open folder on the right. The tree starts at All Documents. Breadcrumbs across the top read Home › All Files, followed by the path to your current location.

Folders take one of ten preset colours, so a board stays readable at a glance.

Creating Folders#

Open the New dropdown at the top of the tree and choose New folder, or hover over an existing folder and choose New sub-folder.

In Create New Folder, enter a name under Folder Name.

Choose one of the ten preset colors.

Choose Create.

Renaming and Removing#

Hover over a folder to open its ⋯ More options menu, which includes Rename and Delete. The pencil button on a folder row also opens the rename option.

Finding a File#

Search all files… searches the entire board, not just the open folder. The X beside the search field clears the search.

While a search is running, the header reads "Searching…". When it finishes, it shows "{n} results for "{query}"". Results include a Location column showing which folder each file is in.

The folder tree is hidden while searching and reappears when you clear the search.

The Grid / List toggle switches between thumbnails and a table showing Name, Size, Uploaded By, and Upload Date. Files at the top level show "Root" as their location.
