Chart type reference
The Chart type picker groups 16 chart types into six categories. Select a category first, then choose a chart type within it.

| Category | Chart Type | What It Draws |
|---|---|---|
| Pie | Pie | One slice per bucket, sized according to its share of the total. |
| Pie | Donut | The same as Pie, with the centre cut out. |
| Column | Column | One vertical bar per bucket. |
| Column | Stacked | Vertical bars divided into segments based on the Stack by column. |
| Column | Stacked 100% | The same as Stacked, but every bar uses the full height so you can compare shares rather than totals. |
| Bar | Bar | One horizontal bar per bucket, useful when labels are long. |
| Bar | Stacked | Horizontal bars divided into segments based on the Stack by column. |
| Bar | Stacked 100% | Horizontal bars normalised to full width. |
| Line | Line | Points connected by straight segments, useful for buckets in a defined order. |
| Line | Smooth | The same as Line, with the line drawn as a curve. |
| Line | Stacked | One line per series, with each series stacked on the one below. |
| Line | Stacked 100% | Stacked lines normalised so each point reaches the full height. |
| Area | Area | A line with the area beneath it filled in. |
| Area | Stacked | Filled areas stacked on top of one another. |
| Area | Stacked 100% | Stacked areas normalised to full height. |
| Other | Bubble | Buckets displayed as a scatter of bubbles rather than bars. |
