The notification bell

Where notifications arrive, what a row shows you, and what produces one.

The bell sits in the top bar next to the theme toggle. It shows a badge only when you have something unread, counting up to "99+". Choosing it opens a panel on the right, the app stays usable behind it, so you can read a notification without losing your place.

The badge counts unread only, up to 99+.

What a row shows#

  • Who it's from, with their avatar or initial.
  • A title and a message, long ones clamp to two lines with a Read more toggle.
  • How long ago it arrived: "just now", "5m ago", "3h ago", "2d ago", then a short date.
  • A dot, a tinted background and a coloured stripe down the left while it's unread.

Opening a notification#

Choosing a row marks it as read. If the notification points at something, an item or a board, that link opens in a new tab and the panel closes behind you.

Opening a row marks it read and opens what it points at in a new tab.

What produces a notification#

OurOpero doesn't publish a fixed list of notification types; the catalogue comes from your account and can differ between plans. What always produces one:

  • Being @mentioned in an update or a reply, as a person, as part of a team, as part of the whole service, or as a team lead.
  • An automation whose action is Notify Someone, using the title and body whoever built the automation wrote.
  • An automation whose action is Send Email.

Browsing and loading more#

Tabs at the top switch between All and Unread. The list loads twenty at a time as you scroll, and ends with "You're all caught up". If nothing loads, you'll see "Couldn't load notifications, try again in a moment."
