Adding subitems

Breaking an item into steps, one nested row at a time.

A subitem is a row underneath an item, used for the steps that make up a piece of work. Subitems live in a small table indented under their parent, joined to it by a curved elbow line in the group's colour.

  1. Choose the chevron at the start of an item's name cell to expand it.
  2. In the nested table, choose the "Add subitem" row at the bottom.
  3. Type a name over the placeholder "Enter subitem name..." and press Enter. Escape closes the row without adding anything. Like items, new subitems appear immediately and save in the background.

Subitems have their own cell values, conversation, and files, and they get their own numbering when the board uses an auto-number column.
