Upgrading and downgrading

Upgrades happen now and are prorated; downgrades are scheduled for your next cycle.

Both directions start the same way: Administration › Billing → Change plan, then choose a plan and continue to the confirmation step. The confirmation shows the per-seat price and, on the checkout path, the total for your whole team, because checkout bills a seat for every member.

Upgrading#

An upgrade takes effect immediately. The unused time you've already paid for on your current plan is automatically credited toward the new one, so you only pay the prorated difference. Your billing date also resets to today.

Downgrading#

A downgrade takes effect at your next billing cycle. You keep everything included in your current plan until then, and nothing is charged today. The button reads Schedule downgrade rather than Confirm, because that's exactly what it does.

Once it's scheduled, a banner appears on the Billing Overview showing which plan you're moving to and when, what your first bill on the new plan will be, and offering a button to keep your current plan and cancel the scheduled downgrade.

The Billing Overview with an amber banner naming the scheduled downgrade, its date and the first bill, beside a Keep Pro button.
The banner stays until the downgrade happens or you keep your current plan.

Two things the picker won't offer#

  • While you're actively paying, free plans are hidden, you can't drop straight to a free plan from a paid subscription.
  • Your current plan's button is disabled while the subscription is genuinely active. If a subscription has lapsed, you can buy the same plan again.
