OurOpero keeps a version each time a document saves, so you can preview an earlier draft and restore it.

Previewing a version changes nothing until you restore it.

Versions are created automatically. Each time a document autosaves, OurOpero records a version. There is no "save a version" action to remember.

Opening the History#

Choose the history icon in the document bar. The badge on the icon shows the number of versions saved so far. A panel headed Version History opens beside the document. Choose Close history to close it. A document that has never been saved shows "No version history yet."

Reading the List#

  • Each row is titled Version {number}, with the newest version first.
  • The newest version has a green Latest badge.
  • Each row shows who saved it and how long ago. Hover over the time to see the exact date.
  • The footer reads "Click a version to preview. Hover a past version to restore it."

Previewing a Version#

Choose a version to open the document in read only mode with that version's content. An amber banner appears with the message "Previewing Version N by {author}." The banner includes Restore and Dismiss. Choose Dismiss to return to the live document without making changes.

Restoring#

  • Open Version history.
  • Hover over a past version and choose the circular arrow button. Its tooltip reads "Restore this version".
  • The selected version replaces the current document content and autosaves like any other edit.
