Callouts, toggles and columns

The blocks that shape a page rather than carry text of their own.

Callouts#

Callouts, toggles and columns all come from the same picker. The table of contents builds itself from the page's headings.

A Callout is a highlighted block for something the reader shouldn't skim past. It has its own emoji picker on the left, so you can set the icon to match what you're saying, such as a warning, a tip, or a question.

Toggles#

A Toggle folds content away behind a heading you write. It's useful for background information that readers may not need on a first read, such as long context, an appendix, or a list of edge cases. Content stays inside the toggle when the page is exported.

Columns#

3 columns split the page into three side by side areas, each holding ordinary blocks. It's available in the slash menu's Advanced blocks group, the Insert menu, and Turn into on the selection toolbar.

Table of Contents#

Table of contents builds itself from the headings on the page and updates as you add them. Put it near the top of a long document.
