The selection toolbar
The small toolbar that appears over selected text, button by button.

Select any text and a compact toolbar appears above it. It contains the formatting options you use while writing, so you don't have to move to the top of the page.
| Control | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Turn into | Converts the block to another type. See below. |
| Font | Changes the typeface of the selection. |
| Font size | A stepper for making the selection larger or smaller. |
| Bold, Italic, Underline | Applies bold, italic, or underline formatting. Shortcuts are ⌘B, ⌘I, and ⌘U respectively. |
| Strikethrough | Draw a line through the selection. |
| Code | Applies inline code formatting. Shortcut: ⌘E. |
| Mark as equation | Turns the selection into an inline TeX equation. |
| Link | Attach a link. See below. |
| ⋯ (Insert) | Provides Keyboard input, Superscript, and Subscript. |
Turn Into#
Turn into convert the current block without requiring you to retype it. Available types include Text, Heading 1 through Heading 6, Bulleted list, Numbered list, To-do list, Toggle list, Code, Code Drawing, Quote, and 3 columns.

Choosing Link opens a small panel with two fields: Paste link and Text to display. Once a link exists, selecting it provides buttons to edit the link, open it, or unlink it while keeping the text.
